Build a Backpack Central Florida 2021
The DPR Central Florida offices (Orlando and Tampa) raised donations in 2021 that we were able to provide back-to-school backpacks full of supplies for Students at various Boys and Girls Clubs here in Central Florida. We were able to donate 73 backpacks in Orlando and 61 in Tampa.
Build a Backpack Florida 2019
In 2019, we were able to raise donations to provide 939 backpacks to students in Florida for the upcoming school year. 520 backpacks filled with supplies to the Boys and Girls Club in Eatonville! 247 backpacks were donated in Tampa and 172 in the South Florida area. DPR Volunteers spent the afternoon hanging out with the children coordinating activities including basketball, dance competitions, keychain crafts for their new backpacks, face painting, balloon art and ice cream!
Build a Backpack Florida 2018
The DPR offices in Florida were able to provide resources for 970 students in Florida in 2018 equipping students with the tools they needed to Succeed! 250 backpacks went to the BGC of Central Florida, 150 to the Children’s Home Society of Central Florida, 120 to the Howard Phillips Center for Children & Families, 250 to the BGC of Tampa Bay, 140 to Handy of South Florida and 60 to the Milagro Center of South Florida.
Build a Backpack Central Florida 2017
DPR Orlando & Maitland assembled and donated 236 backpacks filled with supplies to the Boys and Girls Club in Eatonville! Volunteers from both offices spent the afternoon spending time with the children doing activities including basketball and dance freeze competitions, along with a face painter, balloon artist, ice cream, and drinks! We even had some Snapchat fun!
Building Great Futures Central Florida Building Block STEM Event 2017
BUILDING GREAT FUTURES EVENT CONSISTS OF TEAMS CHALLENGED TO BUILD STRUCTURES WITH KEVA BLOCKS IN MULTIPLE CATEGORIES.
DPR Orlando raised $18,000 in 2017 through a Building Great Futures Building Block event where students/trade partners all came together to build structures similar to the STEM program and completed in various categories. DPR has had the privilege to work with the Perinatal Program over the past five years and is excited to make them the beneficiary again this year.
Children’s Home Society Lilley House Playground Renovation 2016
Our Service September project was at Children’s Home Society’s Lilley House in Casselberry. Our mission was to get their playground “up to code” so they could actually use it. DPR volunteers spent two days and self-performed tasks all over the property including tree trimming, installing wooded bollards along the road and parking lot sides, demoing concrete sidewalk, demoing old playground equipment, digging and pouring foundations for a canopy, and spread new mulch within the play area.
